Sremska Mitrovica landscape
becomes part of ADRION region


Until recently, Tourist Organisation of the City of Sremska Mitrovica has signed Partnership Agreement for the implementation of the project ADRILINK-Adriatic Landscape Intepretation Network in the scope of the Second Call for proposals of the Interreg V-5 Adriatic-Ionian ADRION Programme 2014-2020.

Together with the project partners, Sremska Mitrovica has recognised that the ADRION area is a well-established tourism destination where the potential for the development of all year tourism destinations are many and reflected in its natural, cultural, historical heritage sites as well as in it local varieties. ADRILINK general objective is to promote Landscape Tourism in the Adrion region through the creation of a network of Landscape Interpretation Centres, conceived as nodal points of selected thematic paths and routes, digitally connected through an ICT platform, ensuring the integrated management of tourist services and fostering innovative solutions. The project provides new models of sustainable tourism management aimed at reducing tourism seasonality through the valorization of natural and cultural landscapes as common assets that can be visited throughout the year.

Partnership consortium consists of 11 partners from 7 countries: Italy, Greece, Albania, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia, lead by the an Italian partner Municipality of Jesi. Project duration is 30 months and it is due to last until July, 2022. Total amount of the project is 2 409 446, 70 EUR, out of which 199 348, 00 EUR is allocated to the Tourism Organisation of the City of Sremska Mitrovica.
